A look into my "Studio"

Currently I'm setup in the spare bedroom of our condo. In the nearing future I hope to score a sweet shared studio space, but this is my little nook until that works out!

Letterpress Drawer

My wife loves looking at Design*Sponge and she recently got inspired from the Greenwich Letterpress (you can see the rest of that post here):

She remembered that her parents have an old letterpress drawer (gothic cond.) and they gladly pulled it out of the attic for us.

Now we are on the hunt collecting type to display in our sweet drawer. So far we've looked at Uncommon Objects, Austin's Antique Mall, but have yet to search online. (maybe just google it or something, or ebay or even jerry's typorama)

We are going to re-arrange this wall of prints and make it the centerpiece. Any advice?

Jeremyville "Sessions"

On my last trip to the fantastic Domy Books I picked up a book i've been eyeing for a looong time and it's a very inspiring one called Jeremyville Sessions.

Jeremyville is an amazing world to view and this book really showcases his vast body of work.

It's jam packed with his amazing illustrations, designs, exhibitions and really highlights his collaborations (Geoff McFetridge, Miss Van, Devilrobots, Lego, Converse, & MTV).

If you purchase it online it comes with small signed original drawing!

It even includes a DVD, stickers, and a poster!

SXSW / Keep-A-Breast

SXSW approaches! I've been several times, but this will be my first to experience it while living in Austin. I'm veryexcited to announce my involvement in my first SXSW Event!

Kimmy McAttee is the PR, Marketing Manager and Event Coordinator for Keep A Breast Foundation. The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Their mission: "to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support. Through art events, educational programs and fundraising efforts, they seek to increase breast cancer awareness among young people so they are better equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being."

On Saturday March 21 I'm going to be painting a cast on site! This is going to be a rad experience and for a great cause. If you're around, come on over to Emo's anytime between 12 P.M. - 6 P.M.

You can see examples of other artist's casts here

Also, makes sure to check out Kimmy's sweet clothing company called Pony Attack!!.

Ah, Married Life!

Today was the best day!

Sally's bike came in and we just lived up the town! Freewheeling Bikes in Austin hooked us up.

This is her brand new seafoam green Electra Amsterdam. It's sooo pretty and rides so well.

I've wanted an Amsterdam for a long time, but I'm much happier to have bought one for my wife. She just loves it!

We pedaled all over the hyde park & north loop area neighborhoods stopping at Avenue B Grocery, Epoch Coffe House, Blue Velvet vintage, and Hyde Park Grocery. Tonight she cooked an amazing dish of steamed vegetables that was seasoned by the heavens. I'm going to get back to working on projects, but I'm sure we'll have to top off the day with some Wii!

Yeah, we're pretty much living the dream.
